Wedding Crashers DVD Released Early in FYE Stores
We received this note from Adam Stevenson in Michigan: "Wedding Crashers has been released early on DVD at FYE (For Your Entertainment) for $19.99 but then it is $12.99 after mail-in rebate.  I was talking to some guy at FYE about why the DVDs were out already.  He said he had gotten an e-mail saying that some company had broken the release date and wanted them to release it now and not on Jan. 3rd.  The DVD has great features such as both the rated and unrated version.  Also, a poster of the film comes with it with purchasing it.  I've ckecked Borders, Best Buy, and Circut City and could not them there.  So, go to your closest FYE to check it out."

The Wedding Crashers DVD was to be released on Tuesday, January 3rd. A special showing of the "uncorked" edition of the movie will be shown in theatres on the evening of January 2nd.

Fans Mourn the Death of "Blue" from Old School
Actor Patrick Cranshaw, who played the elder fraternity brother "Blue" in "Old School," has died in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 86. Cranshaw died of natural causes Wednesday at his home, the Dallas Morning News reported Friday. He is survived by two daughters and one son.

Cranshaw was a popular character actor but his star really rose in the twilight of his career with roles in "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and the "Air Bud" movies. But it was his scene-stealing turn as Joseph "Blue" Palasky in the hit Will Farrell comedy "Old School" that turned Cranshaw into a bonified Hollywood star, the newspaper noted. Cranshaw could hardly go anywhere without hearing Ferrell's signature line from the film, "You're my boy, Blue," his daughter told the newspaper. "It's like he became a rock star in his 80s." Cranshaw had recently returned home to Fort Worth from shooting another installment in the "Air Bud" series.

Globe Nomination "beyond my wildest dreams" for Will Ferrell
News of Will Ferrell's nomination for actor in a musical or comedy for "The Producers" induced a groggy debate at the performer's house Tuesday morning when he awoke to a phone call from his publicist that he failed to catch. "I was wondering, 'Gosh, who's calling?' I didn't put anything together. It wasn't until my wife was like, 'You got nominated, I know it! There's no reason why anyone would be calling this morning!' I was in a half-asleep state and I said, 'Or maybe he's telling me I didn't get nominated,' and she said, 'Why would he do that?' " Once he found out he was nominated, Ferrell fell back to sleep. "We have a 2-year-old and I knew he would be waking up soon, so I tried to get some more sleep." Still, he was elated by his first Globe nomination. "It's hard to put it into words. You feel flattered by the whole thing. This is beyond my wildest dreams." Ferrell did his own singing and dancing in the movie, which he described as "a trial-by-fire experience." "I was thrown in with the rest of the group," he said. "But that's where Susan Stroman was such a good director, with me and Matthew (Broderick) and Nathan (Lane), (she) really helped me along." Ferrell said he had no plans for any celebrations as his "exciting conclusion to the day" would involve taking his wife to the doctor because she threw her back out. "But I'll do it with a smile on my face." (Backstage.com)

Will Ferrell and Steve Carell Score Golden Globe Nominations
Congrats to Will Ferrell for being nominated for Best Supporting Actor for The Producers. Ferrell competes against dramatic heavyweights such as Bob Hoskins, Paul Giamatti, George Clooney, and Matt Dillon. Frankly, we're shocked by this nomination; it seemed so far removed from realistic possibility that we didn't even list Ferrell on our award speculation story on December 11th.

Meanwhile, Steve Carell was nominated for Best Comedy Actor in a Television Series for The Office. He competes against Zach Braff, Larry David, Charlie Sheen, and Jason Lee (who is a lock to win). Carell also helped announce the awards (shown in photo).

The winners will be announced on January 16.

Vaughn, Aniston pulled over by Scottsdale police
Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston might not be an official Hollywood couple, but they're certainly hanging out together in the northeast Valley, according to Scottsdale police.

Vaughn - who was driving with Aniston - was pulled over Tuesday at 12:20 a.m. near Indian Bend and Scottsdale roads by a patrol officer who observed a "demolished" registration sticker on the license plate of the actor's rental SUV, Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said.

The officer reportedly detected the smell of alcohol in the car, and Vaughn was asked to take a field sobriety test. The star of Swingers and Wedding Crashers was found to be under the legal limit, police said, though he was asked not to drive.

A friend of Aniston's picked the couple up on the side of the road. No citation was issued, and no police report was filed, Clark said. (azcentral.com)

Owen More Kissable than Luke; Vaughn Loses to Pitt
According to a new Lifetime Television poll Every Day's a Holiday*, by nearly four to one (78% vs. 22%) American women would rather kiss Brad Pitt than Vince Vaughn under the mistletoe. When it comes to necking with a Wilson Boy, 53% picked Owen with 47% taking Luke.

Piven in for Carell
Longtime second banana Jeremy Piven (Old School) is finally getting his chance to carry a film. New Line has set the actor best known for his roles in SAY ANYTHING, SINGLES, "The Larry Sanders Show" and most recently "Entourage" to star in the movie formerly titled FURRY VENGEANCE. Piven will replace Steve Carell, who recently dropped out of the production, in the lead role as a ruthless developer who becomes the subject of revenge from the numerous animals he's displaced in the wild. No word on when the former FURRY might begin filming but it probably won't be any time in the very near future. Piven has another film project on the way plus another season of "Entourage" to begin filming for HBO. Carell is getting set to star in EVAN ALMIGHTY, the BRUCE ALMIGHTY spinoff, and didn't have time in his schedule to stay committed to FURRY. (JoBlo.com)

GQ Men of the Year: Vince and Jen
Congrats to the couple of the year. Our friends at Vince-Vaughn.com have two great articles. Aniston Joins the Guys and Vince Vaughn Man of the Year.

Darrell Waltrip on Will Ferrell's NASCAR Comedy
" I got to work on the Will Ferrell NASCAR movie for a couple of days in Charlotte with Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds and the NBC guys. We've got little cameo parts throughout the movie so we were calling one of Ricky Bobby's races. I had an awesome time. The people were so fun to work with. Larry, Mike and I love talking about racing, and we were excited about being able to participate in the movie so it was a fun two days.

I can't wait to see the final product. Always remember it's a spoof on NASCAR, and it should be really hilarious. Knowing Will Ferrell the way we do, I'm sure it's going to be a hoot." (Fox Sports)

Football Players in Awe of Will Ferrell
"Actor Will Ferrell was a surprise guest in the Carolina Panthers' postgame locker room Sunday, November 13. He's in Charlotte to work on his latest film, in which he portrays a NASCAR driver named Ricky Bobby. Asked by a television reporter who he liked in Saturday's college-football showdown between "USC and Clemson," Ferrell deadpanned: "I'll take USC of Los Angeles."

Ferrell graduated from the University of Southern California and once worked in the sports-Information office there. He obviously took offense at the USC reference to the University of South Carolina, which plays Clemson this Saturday. Asked afterward if Ferrell had any words of wisdom for him, quarterback Jake Delhomme replied: "No. I think all the guys in our locker room were in awe of him."

When Panthers Coach John Fox (shown at right) was asked about meeting Ferrell, he at first didn't want to comment on their "private" conversation. Fox did later admit that a reporter apparently asked Ferrell who would best play John Fox in a motion picture, and joked that Ferrell supposedly replied, "Sean Connery." (Winston-Salem Journal)

Jack Black as Nacho Libre
"From the creators of NAPOLEON DYNAMITE and SCHOOL OF ROCK comes a wildly original, off-the-wall comedy about Nacho, a lowly slop cook at an orphanage who secretly dreams of becoming a famous Mexican wrestler. Moonlighting in disguise, he is ultimately exposed and excommunicated by the church. But when he defeats Mexico's most feared Luchador, and gives his winnings to the orphans, he becomes a local hero." (JoBlo.com). The movie is rumored to open on June 2, 2006 - the same weekend as The Break Up.

Frat Pack Stars Celebrate The Earth
This seems like appointment television. Make sure to check Earth to America on TBS Sunday night. The show features appearances by Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, and more.

The Break Up Moved to June 2006
According to the Official Website, the movie will now open on June 2, 2006. Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for the Vince Vaughn/Jennifer Aniston flick.

Speaking of Vaughn, he was recently asked about having sex with Aniston and gave an answer that didn't exactly deny much. Vaughn was told: "It would be great if you just tell me what sex was like with Jennifer Aniston." The actor stumbled: "Well, yeah, exactly. But see, in my position, you're just like, whatever. There's nothing that can come out of talking about that stuff."

Will Ferrell to Team with Jon Heder for Ben Stiller's Ice Skating Film?
Will Ferrell and Jon Heder might be lacing up their skates alongside Will Arnett and Amy Poehler for "Blades of Glory." Red Hour Films' Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld are producing the DreamWorks comedy with John Jacobs of First Entertainment. Tackling the competitive world of ice skating will be the commercial directing duo Josh Gordon and Will Speck.

"Blades" revolves around a pair of world-class men's figure skaters who are banned from the sport after their disgraceful brawl during the Winter Games in Salt Lake City. After three years of toiling in obscurity, they attempt to put aside their feud and exploit a loophole in the terms of their suspension, partnering to compete in the only category open to them -- pairs figure skating.

Serious talks are under way to have Ferrell and Heder star as the disgraced pair, with Arnett and Poehler playing their rivals. Sources cautioned, however, that salary and scheduling concerns could sideline the prospective deal. (Hollywood Reporter)

Airline Trouble for "Focker" Fan
Lorrie Heasley says she just wanted to give her Democratic parents — waiting at Portland International Airport to meet her flight from Los Angeles — a laugh. They never got the laugh. Because Heasley didn’t make it to the Portland airport. The Woodland, Wash., woman was kicked off her Southwest Airlines flight at a stop in Reno, Nev., on Tuesday because of the T-shirt she was wearing.

Two days later, Heasley calls it an egregious violation of her free-speech rights. The airline says it’s simply a matter of following Southwest rules and dealing with someone whose profane T-shirt was offending other passengers. The T-shirt Heasley was wearing was both political and profane. It’s imprinted with photographs of President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice with words under it alluding to a recent movie, “Meet the Fockers.” The shirt changes one letter in the movie title. Ferrell Movie Filming Today in Talladega
I wonder who'll be doing cameos?

The folks congregating for the races this weekend at Alabama's 175,000-capacity Talladega Superspeedway will have some interesting visitors on hand -- Will Ferrell and company, shooting scenes for the yet-untitled Columbia comedy in which he plays a NASCAR driver named Ricky Bobby.

"It's going to be fun, probably pretty rough and hectic," guesses Leslie Bibb, who's playing the highly manicured wife of Will's character.

She makes it clear they're not mocking NASCAR. Leslie is convinced "The people in NASCAR are going to love the movie; they're an integral part of it. We're not spoofing them -- this huge, fastest-growing sport in America. It's definitely getting their OK stamp."

The flick also features John C. Reilly, Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G), Michael Clarke Duncan, Gary Cole and a string of star cameos.

As for Will's stock car driver, "He knows how to drive fast. That's all I'll say about Ricky Bobby," says Leslie. Her own character, Carley Bobby, "probably didn't graduate from high school, but she's got herself this guy who ended up making it as a driver, and now she has everything -- and a lot to lose. She's mean, but it would be boring to just play her mean. She's definitely Southern. I grew up in the South," says the actress, who was raised partly in Virginia, "and my mother and I have a favorite joke you could never print about Southern women who have a pursed smile and say, 'How nice.'" (National Ledger)

Talladega Superspeedway Vice President and General Manager Rick Humphrey said that producers want to showcase the track's thousands of supportive fans in one of the movie's most pivotal scenes, to be filmed just prior to the start of the Food World 300 at the start/finish line of the track. "This is one way that allows our fans to be directly involved in something that has been generating a lot of buzz for months." (Comingsoon.net)

Tenacious D Previews Movie Songs at Katrina Benefit
Leave it to Jack Black and his prestigious rock pals to dump a barrel of laughs — and a barrel of cash — onto an otherwise grim situation. Slipping into his mock persona as half of facetious Satan-worshipping folk duo Tenacious D, Black invited Dave Grohl, Fiona Apple, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, and comedians David Cross and Sarah Silverman onstage at the Wiltern LG Thursday night for a Gulf Coast disaster benefit that was equal parts hilarity, intimacy and goodwill.

Black and partner Kyle Gass previewed numerous songs from their upcoming "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny" flick/soundtrack, including "Kickapoo" (the Missouri small town Black supposedly escaped from), "The Government Totally Sucks" (with the chant "Bring back the U.S.A.!"), "Man, I Totally Miss You" (Black's paean to K.G.) and "Master Exploder," a goofy guitar-god song Black hysterically lip-synched. That one drew the most applause of all the new songs, which were balanced out by fan favorites "Wonderboy," "Tribute," "Dio" and "F--- Her Gently." (MTV.com, includes additional photos)

Wedding Crashers Passes $200 Million; Virgin #2 Again
The 40 Year-Old Virgin pulled in nearly $8 million at the box office this weekend, good for another #2 showing. Meanwhile, Wedding Crashers spent it's ninth week in the top 10 with another $3 million. The movie has now crossed the $200 million mark.

Great Summary of Wedding Crashers
We know you've all seen a million reviews of Wedding Crashers by now but this summary seemed interesting enough to pass on.

"The story is predictable, but Wedding Crashers doesn’t strive to reinvent the wheel. It’s comfortably aware of its similarity to every other ‘Frat Pack’ movie (for the uninitiated, this pack is comprised of Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black, Will Ferrell, and Luke and Owen Wilson). In a short time, these actors have become the patron saints of guys who refuse to act their age, and most of their films are funny, owing to the fact that the scripts change, but the characters do not. Owen Wilson in Wedding Crashers is the same Owen Wilson of Starsky and Hutch; likewise for Vaughn, still playing his character from Swingers nearly ten years on. It’s a show that will inevitably get boring, but for the time being, it still makes for some great comedy. Wedding Crashers will be welcomed as a new classic by fans of Old School and Dodgeball, and is the perfect lowbrow comedy fix for the idiot man-child in everyone." (Yes Weekly)

Will Ferrell's NASCAR Film Starts Shooting
Principal photography begins today in Charlotte, NC on Columbia Pictures' Untitled Will Ferrell NASCAR Comedy directed by Adam McKay from a screenplay by Ferrell and McKay. The movie tells the story of NASCAR stock car racing sensation Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) whose "win at all costs" approach has made him a national hero. He and his loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo -- dubbed "Thunder" and "Lightning" by their fans for their ability to finish so many races in the #1 and #2 positions, with Cal always in second place. When a flamboyant French Formula One driver, Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen), challenges the "Thunder" and "Lightning" for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight Girard for the right to be known as racing's top driver.

Gary Cole, Michael Clarke Duncan, Leslie Bibb and Jane Lynch head a supporting cast. Other key contributors include cinematographer Oliver Wood, production designer Clayton Hartley and costume designer Susan Matheson. Untitled Will Ferrell NASCAR Comedy is directed and co-written by Adam McKay (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), who authored the screenplay with co-writer Will Ferrell. Jimmy Miller (Kicking & Screaming) and Judd Apatow (The 40 Year Old Virgin) are the producers and David Householter (Just Like Heaven) is the executive producer.

More NASCAR Comedy Notes
So, I guess maybe the movie isn't called High, Wide and Handsome. We also learned that the movie is now scheduled to open on August 4, 2006.

Check Will and Ben in a Adam McKay's SNL Film on E!
Big props to Kathleen for sending this one in: "I was looking at this week's SNL reruns on E! and saw that the episode with the "The Heat is On" short film by Adam Mckay reruns Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. It was directed by Adam Mckay, starring Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller. It's interesting... I figured this would be something you'd like as well, with the Frat Pack connections. It'll be on E! Wednesday night at at 1am (eastern) and again Thursday afternoon at noon (eastern)."

Stiller plays a guy who meets Glenn Frey, played by Will Ferrell. This is well-worth seeking out, and in the spirit of giving, we have obtained an AVI video version for you to download.

Jennifer Aniston Supports Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show
We stayed away from both of these stories because they weren't really related to Vince's movies but since they're coming together we might as well.

Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show is touring the country (though, sadly, not in the SF Bay Area where we are based).

Jenn and Vince continue to deny rumors that they are more than friends, but Jenn was recently spotted wearing a shirt from Vince's comedy show. This isn't really the best way to put those rumors to bed. There are additional photos too.

Our friends at Vince-Vaughn.com have been covering both of these stories really well.

Virgin Strong #2 at Box Office
The 40 Year-Old Virgin was second in the Labor Day weekend box office, with an estimated $16.5 million over four days. Total box office now stands at $72 million. Wedding Crashers made $5.7 million, good for 7th place and a total take of $196 million.

Owen Wilson as Walter Mitty?
Jim Carrey is out and Owen Wilson is in as the new Walter Mitty. A film adaptation of James Thurber's short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" has been in development for years. "Mean Girls" director Mark Waters says he and Wilson will start working in December on an updated version of the story about the famous daydreamer, who was originally portrayed onscreen by Danny Kaye in 1947. "Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard were thinking about it, Jim Carrey was going to do it, but now I'm doing it with Owen as Mitty," Waters says. "Richard LaGravenese ("The Bridges of Madison County") wrote the script, which is this modern take where everybody thinks Walter should be on Paxil or something, but he likes his daydreams." Carrey and Stiller to Team Up for Used Guys
Obviously a little worried that he's about to lose his comedy crown to him, Jim Carrey's come to the conclusion that if you 'can't beat 'em, join 'em' and has announced he'll be teaming up with funny-foe Ben Stiller on a new flick.
Carrey and Stiller, who previously worked together on 1996's "The Cable Guy", which Stiller directed, will star in Jay Roach's "Used Guys", says Variety

The film tells of a futuristic world where woman rule the Earth - because men downed an enhancement drink that wiped them all out. The comedy duo would play clones rendered obsolete because they can't do what more advanced models can do - like listen to the women, or satisfy them sexually. The clones make a dash for it, in search of a male nirvana known as Mantopia. (Moviehole)

Virgin Number One Again; Small 23% Drop
It was another great weekend for The 40 Year-Old Virgin, which was number one again with an estimated $16.4 million. The small 23% drop shows this movie has great word-of-mouth and that audiences are responding. Wedding Crashers had an even smaller 22% drop and bringing in another $6.2 million for fifth place. The total box office for the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson comedy stands at $187 million.

"Virgin" Number One at Box Office
Congrats to Steve Carell and Judd Apatow for scoring a number one hit with The 40 Year Old Virgin. The movie made $20.5 million according to estimates, which is pretty good for an R-rated comedy starring an actor with no track record at the box office. Wedding Crashers dropped just 30% to stay in 4th place with $8 million, bringing it's total to $178 million.

We'll have our review in our next podcast but overall we've given The 40 Year Old Virgin our highest rating: *****. Tell us what you thought of the movie by emailing us or leaving a message on our comment line: 206-666-FRAT.

Nice tip from Tulipsforvince over on the Frat Pack Forum. The Dutch Wedding Crashers site has a different movie poster and a curious mix of English and Dutch language. But, it also has a cool variant of the Purple Heart cutouts.

Crashers has Best Fifth Weekend Box Office in Over a Year
Wedding Crashers slipped only 26% in its fifth weeked to $11.8M pushing the total up to a remarkable $163.9M. It was the best fifth-weekend gross of any film since last summer's behemoth Shrek 2.

German Wedding Crashers Site
We found the German Wedding Crashers website. In addition to the German version of the trailer, it still includes the Purple Heart cutouts that caused so much controversy.

Casting Set for Will Ferrell's NASCAR Movie
Will Ferrell plays Ricky Bobby, a world-class race car driver and fan favorite. Sacha Baron Cohen (a.k.a. Ali G) will play Jean Girard, who comes to the U.S. to conquer NASCAR and defeat Ferrell. John C. Reilly will play Cal Naughton, Ferrell's boyhood friend who together with Ferrell forms "Thunder & Lightning," the most feared racing duo in NASCAR. Michael Clarke Duncan will play Lucius Washington, a crew chief whose main job is to harness Ferrell's go-for-broke attitude and keep him from crashing. Dodgeball's Gary Cole will play Reese Bobby, Ferrell's estranged father who re-enters his life to help him return to the top of the racing world. Big thanks to Rick for the tip on this.

The Frat Pack is Invincible
"The frat pack is darn near invincible: This is getting scary. The loose club of Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller hit gold again this summer with "Wedding Crashers" ($144 million and climbing). They never all show up in the same movie, playing musical chairs from hit to hit, but "Crashers" (starring Owen Wilson, Vaughn and with a cameo from Ferrell) follows the success of "Starsky & Hutch," "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story," "Old School," "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers." Alone they can stumble (Ferrell had mediocre results this summer with "Bewitched" and "Kicking & Screaming"), but as a tag team they're uncanny." (The Detroit News)

Tenacious D Movie Wraps Production
Here's a great report sent in from Rick: "Production officially wrapped for the Tenacious D film on Friday, July 22nd, in Pasadena, CA. According to thread at IMDB, they filmed a scene at the Guitar Center in Pasadena, featuring Jack Black and Ben Stiller. So it seems that Stiller has officially taken over Will Ferrell's role as the "Guitar Shop Dude" who introduces the D to "The Pick." Also, MTV has a fairly funny interview with Jack & Kyle on the set of the film.

Phony Purple Heart Taken Off Film Web Site
"Following complaints from a congressman, the producers of "Wedding Crashers" on Monday yanked from the movie's Web site a printable Purple Heart advertised as a gimmick to pick up women and get free drinks.

The movie characters — played by Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn — use the medals to pick up women. But advocates for a bill introduced by Rep. John Salazar, D-Colo., say it's no joke — impostors also use the fake medals or fraudulent stories of medals to get ahead in business.

"We understand the sensitivity regarding the medals and did not intend to make light of their significance in any way," New Line Cinema spokesman Richard Socarides said Monday.

Wearing, manufacturing, buying, selling or trading a Medal of Honor is a crime. Salazar's Stolen Valor Act, introduced Friday, would expand the law to include more medals and would allow prosecution of anyone who falsely claims to have earned a military medal or a Purple Heart.

His office drew attention to the Web site. On Monday, he claimed victory.
"If any movie-goers take the advice of the 'Wedding Crashers' and try to use fake Purple Hearts to get girls, they may wind up picking up an FBI agent instead," Salazar warned in a statement. "I am pleased that New Line Cinema has agreed to take down offensive parts of the Web site. Our veterans and FBI agents are working hard to make sure that we honor our true heroes, no one should undermine their efforts."

Socarides said it would be removed by the end of the business day. "This is a comedy, and it's intended to be funny," he said. "It's really not intended to offend anyone." (Yahoo! News)

Crashers Second Again with $25.7 Million
"Comedy fans continued to line up for the New Line hit Wedding Crashers which slipped an amazingly low 24% in its second weekend to $25.7M. After ten days, the R-rated Owen Wilson-Vince Vaughn pic has grossed an astounding $80.4M. The $40M film seems set to soar to at least $160M and could fly much higher if its strong legs keep holding up. Very positive word-of-mouth and a lack of direct competition is working wonders for Crashers which is set to challenge Hitch's $177.6M to become the year's biggest comedy." (Box Office Guru)

Wedding Crashers Holds Up Great at Box Office
After a powerful opening, New Line's Wedding Crashers posted a strong hold on Friday with an estimated $7.7M dipping only 29%. That gives it the best sophomore hold for any summer film since the sleeper hit Crash in early May. For the three-day span, the Owen Wilson-Vince Vaughn comedy should take in $25-27M and remain in second place. (Box Office Guru)

Inside Info on Will Ferrell's NASCAR Comedy
We received a great spy report from Kathleen:

Hey Kevin! I went to the casting call for extras today, got some info to share. Filming begins Sept 6th in Charlotte, they'll be in Talledega in mid-Sept for about 2 weeks. They'll be able to film 2 weeks prior to the race (which is Oct 1st, I believe), then after the race they'll be done here. Yesterday, 800 - 1,000 kids showed up for the roles of Will's two sons. They were there from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., ran over (past 5 p.m.... not over any children), still didn't get to see all the kids. And Adam McKay, producers, casting director and everybody were there on Sat of course.

They mentioned a few things about the movie (And this is from what I can remember and what I could actually hear. Some of it wasn't said into the mic and therefore it was harder to hear clearly). Will Ferrel's character Ricky Bobby works in the pit, the car comes around for tire change and whatever, the guy's dead, Will then gets in the car and finishes the race, coming in 3rd. And there's some scene where Ricky has lost his nerve to drive, his dad calls... something about cocaine under the car... I couldn't hear if there was actual cocaine, or if it was some kind of metaphor... But with Will & cocaine in the same sentence, it'll be funny.

There's a small role that calls for a half Asian man (I'm half Asian. Before she said "man", I was thinking, "Well there goes the majority of this crowd. Please be a woman's role... Damn!"). All I heard about that was something about looking like Kenny Rogers and something about Bruce Willis being dead... Then, "This film has a lot of little weird things."

I think that's pretty much it. And there was other stuff about what we'll be doing, how much we'll be paid, etc. But that's the same as any movie... I still wanna know why the character's name is the name of the two main characters from Made...

Washington Post Mentions The Frat Pack Tribute
